Research Administration

The College of Sciences Research Office works with faculty members to develop robust research programs. The office helps researchers navigate all aspects of the award process, including securing funding for externally sponsored programs.

Helping Researchers Succeed

The Research Office’s pre-award services include proposal preparation, conflict-of-interest management, contact with the university office of contracts and grants, subcontractor management, broader impacts services, sponsor reporting and compliance management. Post-award services include working directly with faculty in the accounting and financial management of their grants.

The office maintains compliance with guidelines and policies consistent with university, state and federal requirements. Key to the latter is adherence to the Federal Office of Management and Budget Circular A-21 and the North Carolina State University DS-2 disclosure documents.

The Research Office also oversees the college’s Instrument Shop, which custom designs and builds prototype equipment for research and teaching labs.
