Faculty and Staff Support

The College of Sciences and NC State offer faculty and staff programs aimed at creating a more diverse, inclusive and equitable working environment.

Cathrine Hoyo delivers a talk at the 2020 CHHE Symposium.

The college has been a campus leader in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives for more than 35 years and has made creating a culture of inclusive excellence a centerpiece of its current strategic planning process. We want to send a powerful message that everyone is welcome in the College of Sciences.

Among our goals: increasing the participation, retention and success of faculty, and staff from historically underrepresented groups. We accomplish this by building an equitable and inclusive environment, one that is free from prohibited discrimination and harassment. By building this community, we create an environment that works for everyone.

Faculty Diversity External Mentoring Endowment

This award was created by a private gift to the college to support professional development opportunities for mid- and early-career faculty members from underrepresented groups, as well as any mid- and early-career faculty who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity among students and fellow faculty members.
