The Daniel L. Solomon Scholars
The Daniel L. Solomon Scholars Program is the signature undergraduate scholarship program of the College of Sciences. It is named for Daniel L. Solomon, who stepped down as the inaugural dean of the College in 2015 after more than 30 years of forward-thinking leadership at NC State.
About the Program
The Solomon Scholars program offers students a competitive scholarship award as well as formal opportunities to develop the skills they need to become the science leaders of tomorrow. Renewable awards are made each year to outstanding students who exhibit superior academic credentials, potential scientific leadership qualities and distinctive life experiences.
Community Building: Each Solomon Scholar is part of a cohort — a group of students who enter and participate in the program together — so the students who hold these scholarship enjoy encouraging, tight-knit communities designed to enhance their academic success.
Experiential Learning: Solomon Scholars participate in outside-the-classroom experiential learning activities that include undergraduate research, study abroad and leadership development.

How to Give
Donors can support the program by contributing to the Solomon Scholars Fund or endowing a Solomon Scholarship of their own.
The Solomon Scholars Fund
Gifts of any size to the Solomon Scholars Fund support the scholarships and enrich the menu of experiential learning opportunities that make this program unique. Adding resources to this fund will improve our scholars’ academic experiences, foster their leadership qualities and instill within them a global perspective on life and learning.
