Stay Interview Program

Stay interviews are structured, informal conversations between managers and their direct reports to improve employee engagement and retention.  

Stay Interviews are intended for an employee to have a sense of belongingness, feel heard, build trust, embody our Culture Charter, identify obstacles to their engagement and work, and develop a greater feeling of self-efficacy and self-advocacy. 

Stay Interviews are intended for a manager to lead with the values of our Culture Charter, build trust with their employee, and create a confidential space to allow the employee’s voice to be heard. The Stay Interview should reinforce that the manager cares about the employee as a person and focuses on what a particular employee needs to remain engaged and stay in the organization. Although it is understood that pay expectations are expected when discussing career growth, this conversation should discuss the employee’s individual overall satisfaction and engagement. The manager is expected to embody the Culture Charter in order to continue developing a positive and effective organizational culture.
