JupyterHub

Sciences IT provides a JupyterHub server that allows students and faculty to use Jupyter notebooks.

Accessing JupyterHub:

Log in to https://jhub.cos.ncsu.edu/ using your NC State Google ID and password.

Getting started with JupyterHub

Accessing JupyterHub from off campus locations:

You will need to use the NC State VPN to access JupyterHub when you are not on campus.

Need help with the VPN?

Call the NC State Help Desk at 919-515-4357 for immediate help (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm ET). Or, submit a service request at help.ncsu.edu.

How do I install and use the VPN software on my computer?

Written instructions:

Why do I have to use the VPN to access JupyterHub when off campus?

Does the VPN use a lot of bandwidth?

  • No, the NC State VPN consumes a negligible amount of bandwidth and you should not notice an impact to your computer’s performance.
  •  The NC State VPN only encrypts network communications directed at NC State servers/computers which are located on campus.
  • You can use Zoom, Moodle, and other websites at the same time you are logged into the NC State VPN.

I am a faculty member who is interested in using JupyterHub in my class.

Sciences IT will set up access to JupyterHub for your class upon request. You can make a service request here. Choose “Software or Application Issue” as the request type.
