Holloway Wins University Award for Excellence
Shannon Holloway, senior research scholar in the Department of Statistics, was one of 12 NC State employees who received the NC State University Award for Excellence on Monday, June 11. The Award for Excellence is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon non-faculty employees at NC State.
Holloway has made exceptional and innovative contributions to a major $10 million research project spanning NC State and two other universities. She redesigned the project website, oversaw National Institutes of Health public access compliance and helped faculty on the project improve their writing skills. She also began holding a writing workshop for junior faculty, doing this on her own time and solely of her own initiative.
One of Holloway’s nominators praised her for her “innumerable high impact contributions to, and profound influence on, the research accomplishments, training and grantsmanship skills of faculty and students in our department.”
