Keeping their promise to prepare the next generation of chemists and work alongside them to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems, several research groups in the department offered lab shadowing opportunities for undergraduates to visit their labs and learn more about undergraduate research. The sessions, led by undergraduate, graduate, and postdoc researchers, took place in the last Spring semester of 2022. 11 research groups participated and hosted over 35 chemistry students.

BS Chemistry Undergraduate, Eva Williams, spoke on her experience and stated “I am so grateful that this was an option, as it helped assure me that this is the degree/career path I want, and talking to older undergraduate students and grad students made me feel more confident about what my academic future may hold.”

Chemistry at NC State aligns its activities to reflect NC State’s brand promise of “Creating economic, societal, and intellectual prosperity.”
