Amanda Savas Named Assistant Dean for Finance and Business Management

Amanda Savas has been named the College of Sciences’ new assistant dean for finance and business management, effective Dec. 5. As assistant dean, Savas serves the lead financial officer for the college with responsibilities for ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency and compliance.

Savas comes to NC State from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she served as interim senior finance director for student affairs. In that role, she oversaw all business, financial and accounting functions for 19 auxiliaries and departments. As part of that work, she coordinated centralized reporting and all-funds budget development totaling $160 million across auxiliaries, state appropriations, grants, F&A, student fees, gifts and expendable endowments.

Prior to joining UNC, Savas spent five and a half years in accounting and business officer roles at NC State with the College of Engineering, the Wilson College of Textiles and the Analytical Instrumentation Facility.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and theater from Muhlenberg College and a master of business administration degree from NC State.
