2005 Zenith Medal for Service: Ginger Sall
Ginger Sall of Cary was recently honored as the first recipient of the Zenith Medal for Service, presented by the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) at North Carolina State University.
The award recognizes alumni or friends of the College for distinguished contributions or advocacy that significantly advance its ability to make powerful impacts on science, the economy, the environment and the quality of human life.
“Ginger is a shining example of the qualities this award represents,” said Daniel L. Solomon, dean of the College. “She brings to the College a global view and a wide breadth of experience. Ginger’s involvement has been vital to our continued success, and her influence is felt, either directly or indirectly, across the entire College.”

For 25 years, she has been a member of La Leche League International, an organization dedicated to providing volunteer education on breastfeeding to new mothers. She served as the organization’s board chair in 2000 and 2001, and now represents the organization at the United Nations in New York.
