College’s Graduate Programs Make Strong Showing in 2022 U.S. News Rankings
The college’s graduate programs ranked highly in their fields in the latest rankings of graduate schools in science by U.S. News and World Report.
NC State’s statistics program moved up five spots to 11th in the nation, while applied mathematics, which made the list for the first time, ranked 21st.
Other graduate programs in the college also made strong showings. The mathematics, chemistry, physics and earth sciences programs ranked 53rd, 62nd, 68th and 70th, respectively. Mathematics and chemistry ranked in the top 30 percent of programs surveyed, while physics ranked in the top 40 percent.
Biological sciences ranked 93rd overall, in the top third of programs surveyed.
The 2022 sciences programs rankings are based on survey responses from academic officials between fall 2021 and early 2022 for biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, mathematics, physics, statistics and biostatistics.
